The bilingual outreach quarterly journal *Motaf* is published with the aim of promoting applied knowledge in fisheries and marine sciences and enhancing public awareness regarding the sea, aquatic organisms, and fisheries-related activities. The journal is produced through the collaboration of researchers from the Bushehr Province Fisheries Department and distinguished scholars in fisheries sciences across the country. It seeks to integrate knowledge, experience, and innovation in order to establish a sustainable connection between universities, executive organizations, and industry stakeholders, thereby paving the way for the sustainable development of the country’s marine-based fisheries industry.

*Motaf* proudly invites professors, researchers, experts, fishers, aquaculture practitioners, and marine science enthusiasts to contribute by submitting their valuable articles, reports, and findings. Submissions should present scientific and technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner suitable for the target audience, helping to advance knowledge and promote the fisheries and marine sciences sector.

The journal welcomes manuscripts covering a broad range of topics in marine sciences and fisheries, including indigenous experiences, field-based training, modern fishing and aquaculture methods, marine biotechnology research, green management approaches and marine pollution reduction strategies, introduction of valuable aquatic species for aquaculture, expert recommendations for marine environmental protection and sustainable blue-economy development, as well as strategies for promoting seafood consumption.

In accordance with the journal’s mission, priority is given to publishing practical and implementable findings applicable to the production sector. Purely academic research papers lacking outreach or applied value are recommended for submission to scientific research journals instead.
